DESCRIPTION:

How can a tiny microcontroller board combined with AI solve a real-life food system problem? Are you ready to take on the challenge?

Undergrads and grad students are invited to join the AIFS x Sony AI AgTech Challenge!

We provide the Sony Spresense microcontroller boards and companion Raspberry Pi AI camera. You provide the ingenuity, creativity, and dedication to get it done.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

 – Submit your application by Tuesday, April 22 at 11:59 PM

– Teams will be announced on Thursday, April 24

– Get your materials and begin pre-work one week before the event

– Work together on site from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning, May 2-4

– On Sunday, May 4, present your project, then hear the winners announced!

Whether you attach your board to a drone, mount different types of sensors, or use it in a fixed location, the information you gather can provide real solutions.

 WHO CAN PARTICIPATE:

Graduate and undergraduate students from any major. No experience is required but each team will have at least one member with coding skills.

The Challenge will be led by AIFS faculty Zhaodan Kong with support from Prabhash Ragbir, Steve Brown, Lance Halsted, and the remote Sony Spresense team.

Food and workspace will be provided throughout the weekend.
